Committed to Excellence

Throughout her life, Becky Brasfield has dedicated herself to mental health recovery, social reform, and disability rights. She was selected to Disability Lead as an inaugural 2015 Institute Fellow, a competitively selected opportunity for emerging leaders with diverse disabilities who unite for an immersive, transformative experience exploring their leadership skills. As a system impacted person, she is advocates for others and is a member of the Illinois Alliance for Reentry and Justice, the People’s Liberty Project and Access Living’s Cook County Safety and Justice Challenge workgroup. Becky, most importantly, believes that a loving community of encouragement, opportunity and hope can transform a person’s life for the better.

She has been invited to be on the training teams for the State of Illinois Division of Mental Health Regional Recovery Trainings for Certified Recovery Support Specialists and Wellness Recovery Action Plan facilitators. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Master’s Degree in Sociology from the University of Illinois.
